if a non-believer says, the sky is blue, it is an abomination, it is a lie, it is a blasphemy. if we say that the sun will rise tomorrow, it's another abomination, more blasphemy, another lie!!

Everything a non-believer says is a blasphemy, because whatever it is that is said by the non-believer, it has no foundation in reality, none what so ever, so everything a non-believer says is a lie!!!

Because NO non-believer is able to speak even an inkling of truth, so everything the non-believer says or even merely implies, it should be disregarded as irrelevant and blasphemous nonsense! PURE NONSENSE!!

religious excuses for hating gays.... (offensive-religio-rant-humour)

what's the most likely religious reason excuse as to why religious people hate gays?

I mean it says in the bible in that Leviticus bit:

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.

and then again, but with more vigilanteeism

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

Frankly I don't see why the male chauvinists haven't latched onto these ones, I mean people are always interpreting the bible however the frack they want and getting away with it, so how about this interpretation of Lev 18:22?

Leviticus 18:22 Do not tell lies to your fellow men (like how you tell lies to women) as it is uncool!

or how about this play on words of Leviticus 20:13?


Leviticus 20:13 If a man fucks another man, once he has already fucked a woman, then both that woman and that man shall be put to death!

So, if you 'lay' with a man the same way you 'lay' with a woman, doesn't that imply that you have had to have had already been 'laid' by the woman in the first place. So that implies to me that it's OK to be gay, as long as you aren't switching sides later on!! LOL! urrr... and if you do flip sides after taking a woman, then the woman is responsible for turning the man gay... (yes, chauvinists should like that one too) ..

of all of these excuses for gayophobia in the bible that i can find, they don't mention that girl on girl action is bad, so one can only assume it's not OK for guys, but being gay is OK for girls... :-D

oh, and then there is this beauty from Doo-too-ron-oh-me (sounds like a droid designation! "Doo-Too!! Doo-Too Oh-Too, where are you?!")

Charming. makes me want to be a cross dresser, or get a sex change, and then wear men's clothing! Or maybe the author of Do-Too Oh-Too didn't want women to be wearing any male appendages? "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man" ... maybe that author got a *really* bad birthday present from his woman once, ie. she wore the appendage as a trophy...

Those three verses (old testament by the way) are probably the only three biblical excuses for gating hays, however, those same verses are probably the basis for lots of christian bigotry.

and if you didn't know, the most famously quoted version of the bible, the King James Version, doesn't even have the word "homosexual" in it at all, it uses the word "effeminate", so anybody using the word "homosexual" when quoting the bible, is using one of those versions where somebody has gone and got a convenient translation of the bible. I've seen christians quoting the King James Bible, but then in the next paragraph they are making quotes from the bible that use the word "homosexual".. that's deceitful is it not?

and the word "gay" appears only once in the KJV....

James 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

i like that one... so apart from the O.T. rubbish from bible, what is the religious reason excuse why people hate gays?


I think it's because gay people *are* gay... not a little bit of the time, not some of the time, not most of the time, no.. they are gay *ALL* the time, because that's who/what/how they are.

just like i am me, not some of the time, not most of the time, but all of the time.

and no, it's not strictly a religious reason...

just like a christian is a christian *all* the time, not a little bit of the time, not some of the time, not most of the time, a christian is a christian at all times... right? well, at least they are supposed to be christian all the time because if they are not christian all of the time, then they are not christian at all.



but...... there are obviously some people who just can't fucking understand the concept that "people are people" and that other people think differently to them. which would explain why USA christians rail against atheists far more than they do against other religious people - to them their line of thinking is that at least other people believe in a god of some sort, I guess it is easy for the christian to say to themselves that other people's gods are just their mistaken view of the christian god, than it is for christians to accept that people don't believe at all.

so as stupid as it sounds, let's just write it out loud

sounds like an easy concept to digest, right? ... should be a no-brainer, right? hmmm... but apparently *not*, given the carry on we've all seen online... (if you haven't, welcome to the internet, remember not to believe everything you see and read and you'll do fine)

see, i think some people just can't understand or cope with their world not being how they want it to be, and that's a problem, not only for them, but for the people they are bigoted towards.

Nobody can change *who* someone is, you can only change yourself, so being a bigot to someone, isn't the best way to go about trying to change someone's way of life.

You could even beat someone for being gay, and they might pretend to not be gay, just to escape being beaten, and eventually they could become 'straight' just to conform, just to blend in, but... who's fucking business is that in the first place anyway? Certainly not someone who has *never* even met you, you can't change people's hearts, at least not in the space of two seconds.

You could beat someone for being christian, but would they not just say that they are not believers any more so as to avoid being beaten? would they really stop believing in Jesus, just because you seem to have beaten it out of them?

and some people, clearly can't even be themselves, so to compensate, they want everyone else to not be themselves as well, so they tell these other people these things "stop being yourself, it's an abomination", but, really it's a matter of .. "If i can't get to be who I want to be, then no-one else is going to get to be who they want to be either!!" ... well, that's the impression I get!

Aside from it not being someone's business what other people do in their bedrooms, if you don't like looking at people who are gay, then don't look at them. Pretty simple, right? After all, you do realise that teh gays are easily identifiable by the flashing neon lights built into the sleeves of their fluorescent jump suits, so just look away when you see the neon.

and you know, maybe those people who are worried that their school age children are getting a 'bad' influence from gay teachers have a point. after all it would be rather distracting to the child's concentration to say the least as it takes effort to treat people with respect especially when they do not deserve it, not to mention they might grow up to be more tolerant of people who are different to them. can't have that happening, now can we? so parents who are concerned that their kids are being "poorly" influenced should be sure to ask their kids if any of their school teachers are having Mardi Gras every class time with scantily clad gay folk parading up and down between the desks? or if any of their teachers wear pink neon lights on their jump suits?

and you know, maybe those rabid packs of homosexuals running around the streets, gang raping paranoid mountain preachers in the arse, just *might* be a problem for society... I mean, those pink neon jump suits might blind some drivers at night time if these rabid-gay-pack-gangs become too large... put all those gays in the one spot and teh gay neon light would be blinding to astronauts up on the International Space Station!

oh, and wouldn't it be a *real* shame if everyone was gay and the human race died out because no-one could have a naturally conceived child any more? I mean, we ALL know that children can only be made when the heterosexual man puts his who-who-dilly in the heterosexual woman's cha-cha!! right?

So if everyone has turned to teh gay side, then there are no more humans being made because it's just not possible for gay people to have children, is it? Two guys can't make a baby, two girls can't make a baby. I mean it's not like gay men would have sex with a woman for the sole purpose of conceiving?!? ewwwwww... not even if you were last member of the opposite sex in the world, honey! not even to save the human race!! ewwwwwwww!!! and it's not like children can be artificially conceived and then implanted into the womb! that's science fiction! and even if it is possible, those children would be evil, conceived and born without souls! (but at least they would be born with pinky neony flashy lighty jumpy suits)

so these people act out, but their 'venting' hurts people, some people have died *just* for being gay at the hands of some christian warrior for Jesus or some sort of foot soldier for god, because we all know how busy god is at being impotent omnipotent...

maybe these males who hate gays, just simply fear that upon having butt secks, they might just find it to be pleasurable? I mean we all know how good taking a good shit feels, having butt secks can't be too much different from that, right?...

imagine Keeping your religion to yourself... for the sake of the earth

imagine, if you will, there is no heaven (hehee) and that there are civilisations out there in the depths of space, thousands or millions of light years away, or maybe even billions of light years away half way across the universe.

Imagine these 'aliens' have technology that is so powerful and advanced that they could systematically wipe out everyone on earth. They could wipe us out from orbit and we'd never even see their faces, not even once. In fact they could obliterate us with an automated probe fired off from the other side of the galaxy and not even get with 100,000 light years of us...

it's not impossible. you've all seen Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, shit man, if we can think it up then it's *possible*, somehow it is possible.

The Ancients Didn't Need Faith... (religio-rant)

if the bible is to believed, then it's true, the ancients did not need faith, Jesus performed miracles by the hundreds for them...

Moses turned the waters into blood at god's command

Now this god, supposedly, is never changing, the perfect god, so... why doesn't this god dude come back - or send his proxy again and do some more miracles? the ancients did not have to take the word of someone, so why should we take the word of people making speculations that god is so amazing?

oh... I know... sure it's very likely that the bible is based upon actual events and actual people, but two thousand years and not one miracle? come on!! could it be that the bible is full of exaggerations and anecdotes and tall tales? Oh OK! I lie, some angels came and saw Humammad, I mean Muhammad (peace be under him), about 610AD I think it was, so no contact from god in 1400 years...

Suffice to say, the ancients did not *need* to have faith, god was smiting stuff left right and centre and healing people and all sorts of godly shit all over the place, so much for this never changing god

What would have happened to Jesus if he had been in Salem at the time of the witch burnings back in the 1690s?

It is *not* beyond the realm of possibility that Jesus would have been burnt at the stake for heresy, and it's not beyond the realm of possibilities that Jesus is sitting in a looney bin RIGHT NOW with drool coming out the side of his mouth from being doped up on whatever it is they use to keep people with mental illnesses "calm" because he "claimed" to be the Messiah!!

Seriously, you're walking down the street, minding your own business and some hobo looking dude smelling of urine (actually it wouldn't matter if he was wearing a three piece suit and smelt of some Calvin Klein for men cologne) walks up to you on the street and says

What would you do?

I'd roll my eyes and keep moving right from the moment he said "will you believe in me", if he insisted and or persisted with this conversation, my defenses would go up and I'd be mentally preparing to deck this guy or be ready to at least return the hostile attitude the instant he started getting hostile himself. If he started rattling off things about me, my name for instance, I'd assume this guy was stalking me, I would assume that he is dangerous, I would not be amazed that this random person knew my name, I would think he was up to no good whatsoever.

I've been accosted before with people pushing their religions in my face, and to me that is offensive and rude. If this guy was truly Jesus he would *know* how offended I would be by his contacting me like this *already*, and he wouldn't be stopping me in the street, he would be rocking up to my house, knocking on my door.

But, what would *you* do?

Everyone (that's the "christian-everyone") is waiting for Jesus to return? You christians may have already killed the poor Jesus bastard and nullified your second coming already...

Atheism is wrong... (religio-rant/humour)


Atheism is *not* the belief in nothing, it's the *disbelief* in everything supernatural.

Atheism is already *wrong*, thanks simply to all the religious people who just can't get past the notion that "atheists believe in nothing" - which I thought was innocuous, even humorous, at first.

but then I realised that they meant that *literally* .. eg. instead of worshiping god, atheists worship "nothing" as if a conscious entity called "the nothing", created the universe..


That's right, not mentioning any names but there are certain religious people, who are not content with believing in their own supernatural being in the sky, but these religious people are so lacking in their own faith, that they also need to make a up a god for atheists as well!

The god of *nothing* - this is probably where believers got the notion that non-believers can't possibly be moral - because they literally believe in nothing. *facepalm*

Why? who knows, but it makes the believers' perspective of atheism *wrong* right from the get-go..

Do looney religious fruitcakes actually think that atheists get down on their knees in some random direction (because there is no atheist Mecca equivalent, right?) five times each day and say a prayer to "The Nothing", or take imaginary rosary beads and pretend to - what ever it is that you are supposed to do with those things, or say "I believe in nothing, nothing is my saviour! Praise be to the nothing!!"

I really hope that these looney fruitcakes are putting on an act, because atheism, well, it's the *complete* lack of *all* belief in all deities and all supernatural bullshit and the rejection of all religions. That does not mean that atheists believe *in* nothing, it simply means that they don't believe in *anything* when it comes to god and religion and the supernatural.. that doesn't mean that the atheist rejects good moral behaviour, even if those morals *do* come from religion!

Believers should think of atheists as having absorbed the good stuff of their religion and have then moved on without taking up that religion full-time.

And the religious types know damn well that non-believer types have morals and ethics, so why do they say we don't? If we had no morals, then believers would have been eliminated long ago in a cold calculating thinning of the numbers of the religiopsychopathic crowd...

What sort of fucked up mind actually creates the idea that anybody would actually and actively set aside time in the day to say praise to nothing?? I hear what you are thinking.. but "yes" there have been instances where christians have said just that or something very similar.

How do you respond when someone asks what your religion is?

Catholic? Islam? Christian? Jewish? Atheism?

If you are an atheist, then your religion is "none" or "no religion" or "not applicable" or "i haven't made up my mind" or "don't be fucking stupid! I don't god damn believe in any fucking religions and yes I was being deliberately ironic by saying 'god damn' just now".

Or you could make up the first thing that comes to mind. Jedi, Nietzschean, Monty-Pythoninst, TOOLean or even use the exact same terms *they* used to describe you, "oh I'm a Darwinist" or "I'm an evil scientist, so I believe in Evilution... "

An atheist's answer should indicate that you refuse to be labelled as one of the masses - as *any* of the masses, since atheists are now becoming are large proportion of the world as a whole. That includes the label that other people put on you, *including* the tag, "atheist"..

By answering "atheism" as your religion, you are further perpetuating the notion of arbitrary labels and arbitrary labels are the foundation of all pointless religious bigotry.

I see atheism turning into a religion, at least to religious people, and while that might not be such a bad thing, it does beg the question, exactly what do people think an atheist believes in if atheism is a religion?

Atheists don't believe in *anything* because of their atheism in particular. eg. if not for religious loud mouths consistently making their beliefs known in things that are science related, I would probably not bother with religion at all, but they do bother science, so I do feel the need to 'rally' against religion. I don't even consider myself an atheist, i just consider myself in the neutral position.

so "religion" itself doesn't apply to atheism in the first place, for instance: I might reject religion as a non-believer, but rejecting religion doesn't necessarily mean that I feel compelled to chase after it down the street with a broom trying to put it out of its misery... I choose to do that of my own accord.

So by answering atheism as your religion to the religious when you are asked, I think that you are, in fact, turning it into a religion or at the very least a religious "label" to appease the religious and their need to label people.


The whole idea of being an atheist is to be an individual, if we label ourselves as atheists, are we not putting up a banner for people to focus upon and to make it easy for the religious people to put us into their do-not-associate-with-this-bunch-of-people buckets?

From experience, I know that by not putting a label on yourself, people will insist on putting a label of their own choosing on you, because it annoys the FUCK out of them if you don't put yourself into a bucket for them, ie. either they make a judgement call on you straight away, or they have to get to know you first, and I've had many conversations with christians that have turned down a massive tangent once they have figured out that i'm a non-believer...

and what does a label mean anyway? that's only the first step with religion and its bigotry, because then the next thing they focus on is what *sort* of muslim are you? sunni, shi'ite? what sort of christian are you? catholic, protestant, born-again? what sort of yadda yadda yadda...

It's simple, religion is bigotry, labeling yourself as an atheist is only for the benefit of the religious anyway, by using the atheist label you add fuel to their bigotry bonfire.

by not putting a label on your self, people are forced to get to know you a little bit better before they put some sort of label of their own choosing upon you, and when they finally do put a label on you, it's such a long label, that it becomes a list detailing the aspects of why that person likes you in the first place, hopefully by that stage you've moved on to simply calling that person, "friend".

but as an experiment, over a period of six months on a particular social network, I deliberately neglected to mention my religious views with christians and had rather pleasant conversations with them, for a while, but eventually the question comes up or they figure out that I have no religion, and the very *instant* they figure that shit out, their attitudes change dramatically and suddenly pleasant conversation ends with the definite impression from these people that *I* was lying to them for not admitting I do not worship a god creature of some kind.

Fuck you, too, cunt face! Why the fuck should I broadcast my non-religious beliefs just so your little fragile ego doesn't get offended by conversing with a non-believer? what sort of fucktard does that? A religious, fucktard, that's who....

It was like the whole "not believing in god" is something that I was *supposed* to tell them up front, before the conversation started, like it was something that I should have written in neon above my head at all times and that I should carry a disclaimer around me to avoid upsetting people simple because those stupid fucktards can't handle having a conversation with somebody who does not believe as they do.

Here's something strange, when certain words are combined their meanings change from what they should actually mean. Especially where religion is involved.

Well... just what happened to separating church and state?

The very meaning of certain aspects of our language is being altered to accommodate religious notions of bigotry, and what religion isn't bigoted? Every religion excludes some other group of people, that's *how* it works, that's bigotry and calling your religion the "religion of peace" or whatever is not going to change that.

Think about it, if everyone had the same religion, the very word "religion" wouldn't exist...

So, let's start with something simple... "anti" .. the literal opposite (up is anti-down and down is anti-up.. yes, that's a stupid example) or anti refers to the opposer of something. Like an anti-religionist, an antichrist and an anticipate (the opposite of a "cipate" pfft! look it up if u don't believe me..)

how did that happen?

From what I've researched, the people who refer to themselves as Jewish, mainly originate from Europe *anyway*. I'm not denying that they may have descended from the Hebrews of the Holy Land of biblical times thousands of years ago, but...

the point being: how is someone who has never even met a Jew let alone had long enough conversations with them that the topic of Anti-Semitism would come up for long enough to get the "proper" meaning of what it means, to the certain people this meaning applies to? (if that makes sense)

to me Anti-Semite means the "opposition to those that are Semites", well, not any more since I looked this up, it would never occur to me that anti-Semite meant anti-Jewish if I heard it in the context of, for example, a news report.

Are we expected to glean the common/popular meaning of words via how the media presents those terms?

Like when "Passion of the Christ" came out, it caused anti-Semitism, and that didn't make sense to me. and what is with people getting up the Jews for killing Jesus?

It also creates an air of having to be careful when using the terms "semite" and "anti-semite" like you have to tip toe around the topic. Well, it does to me, because I have to think about what I'm saying, doing double takes before I speak, "Oh SHIT!! can I say that?" ...

It's little things like this that actually makes me tip toe around the topic of *any* race, like you can't describe anyone as being an "Arab" or "Chinese" or "Dark" or "Black" or anything to describe how someone looks who has even a slightly different racial look about them without having a feeling of being thought of as a racist by using those terms.

It's like what other little nuances do I have to worry about so that I don't unintentionally offend some religious fruit cake who is lacking a spine? Like when you offend somebody's utterly ridiculous religious belief, it's just not polite to say "Oh!! take your religion and FUCK OFF back to Jerkistan if you're that fucking stupid!!! JESUS H CHRIST!!"

maybe this is just the Australian schooling curriculum of the 70s/80s, maybe it was just the primary school I went to, which did have a substantial aboriginal population? Maybe everyone should grow up in a small town where you get to know the same people over many years, where you are forced to grow up with different races?
